Chicago continued their winning streak of hugely successful albums with the 1978 release of "Hot Streets." Even with all of the accolades in the form of big sales, high charting singles like "Alive Again", and the stellar production from the team of Chicago and producer Phil Ramone (Billy Joel/ Paul Simon), the heavy loss of co-founder Terry Kath from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound, would have been enough to have halted this brand name band forever. However, with the support of fans, families, friends and the music community rallying together, Chicago moved forward respectfully.

In due time, they auditioned many guitarists and found the fine guitar/vocals of Donnie Dacus (Stephen Stills/Boz Scaggs). Along with the lead vocals of Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm and Lee Loughnane, Dacus’ vocal presence surely complemented their trademark sound, while his guitar acumen had already been a proven force in the music world.

The band and album enjoyed a welcome return to the upper rungs of the music charts. It was easy to see why, just listen to the magic of the title track supreme "Hot Streets." With a stunning Robert Lamm vocal combined with the intense horn charts, this track retained all of the elements that fans remembered from the first Chicago albums "Chicago Transit Authority" and "Chicago II."

Even more surprises abounded including "Little Miss Lovin’" featuring Peter Cetera and the BEE GEES, the big hit single "No Tell Lover" and the brilliant Chicago ballad "The Greatest Love On Earth."

Hot Streets has been unavailable on compact disc for several years….that is until now! It is now with much honor to a welcome back their classic masterwork "Hot Streets/ Expanded & Remastered." Remastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso from the original Chicago Records tapes at Friday Music Studios with the legendary Lee Loughnane of Chicago, "Hot Streets/ Expanded & Remastered" is a truly one of the most important albums in their highly enduring catalog of classic rock releases.

As an added bonus to this limited edition cd release, we have also included the rare alternate vocal version of "Love Was New" with Donnie Dacus, plus the original gatefold artwork and lyrics used in the original vinyl release 4 decades ago! "Hot Streets"…Now More Than Ever! Exclusively from your friends at Friday Music.
